Francisco José Candido dos Reis, PhD

Full Professor at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), and leader of GIGO in the CNPq research-group directory.

He graduated in Medicine from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) in 1989. He completed his medical residency in General Surgery at Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (1991–1993), and in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Hospital das Clínicas, FMRP-USP (1993–1996). He holds a Master's (1997) and a PhD (1999) in Gynecology and Obstetrics from the University of São Paulo. He pursued postdoctoral training at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston (2004–2005), and was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom (2013–2015). He is Full Professor at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, FMRP-USP. He served as President of the Academic Degrees Committee of FMRP-USP (2008–2012), Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics at FMRP-USP (2017–2019), and Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at FMRP-USP (2019–2021).

He develops teaching, research and extension in Gynecology and Obstetrics, with emphasis on gynecologic oncology, mastology (breast disease), minimally invasive surgery, and medical education.

Physiotherapist trained at the University of São Paulo (USP) and co-founder (idealizadora) of GIGO together with Professor Francisco José Candido dos Reis, PhD. Specialist in Women's Health, certified by the Federal Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy (COFFITO), with a specialization in Women's Health from FATESA and a direct PhD in Women's Health from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP).

Member of the Brazilian Association of Women's Health Physiotherapy (ABRAFISM), the Brazilian Gynecologic Oncology Group (EVA), and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS).

Served as a full member of the Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Program in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo, from May 4, 2022, to May 3, 2024, as a Graduate Student Representative.

Currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Grupo de Investigação em Ginecologia Oncológica (GIGO) at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), a lecturer in Physiotherapy at the Universidade Estácio de Sá (UNESA), and a tutor for the Physiotherapy and Exercise in Oncology Academic League (LIFEONCO).

Gynecologist and obstetrician, graduated in Medicine from the University of Marília (2009). Medical residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Marília Medical School - FAMEMA (2010-2013), and specialized training in urogynecology at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School - FMRP USP (2013-2014). Holds a master's degree (2020) in biology and aging from FAMEMA and a PhD in tocogynecology from FMRP USP (2024), with postdoctoral research in progress. Develops research in gynecology and obstetrics, with emphasis on gynecologic oncology, gynecologic cancer screening, public health and medical education.
